“Yahan ka taapmaan aapke liye bahot garm hone vala hai (The temperature here is going to be too hot for you),” says Tabu as the teaser of her upcoming film Crew begins. And, if there’s one thing that we’re certain about by now, it’s that when Tabu speaks, she is worth believing.
In just a few moments into the teaser, it’s evident that Tabu’s assertion couldn’t be more accurate as she, accompanied by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon, makes a striking entrance, igniting the viewers’ excitement. Dripping with confidence and style, the trio appears on screen clad as air hostesses, boarding a flight.
However, as the teaser unfolds, it becomes apparent that these aren’t your typical air hostesses; they’re indeed a trio of badass ones. Gradually, we discover that “Crew” is a heist comedy, promising a thrilling rollercoaster ride showcasing the best of the three stars. The teaser may also evoke memories of Steven Spielberg’s 2002 film “Catch Me If You Can,” featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.
The official description of the film on YouTube describes “Crew” as an entertaining and captivating comic adventure! Three ordinary air hostesses from Mumbai set out on a journey to pursue their dreams but find themselves entangled in unexpected misfortunes. This comic escapade offers a delightful mix of humor, light-heartedness, and humanism, so sit back and enjoy this entertaining and uplifting journey.
Directed by Rajesh Krishnan, “Crew” has been produced by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, featuring special appearances by Anil Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kapil Sharma, among others.
Kareena shared the teaser of the film on social media and wrote, “Kursi ki peti baandh lein, kyuki yahan ka taapmaan aapke liye bahot garm hone vala hai ❤️🔥.”
The Crew marks the second partnership between Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rhea Kapoor, following their successful collaboration on Veere Di Wedding. Expressing her excitement about the project, Kareena stated, “Veere Di Wedding holds a special place in my heart. Working with Rhea and Ektaa was an incredible journey. So, when Rhea approached me with her new venture The Crew, I was immediately intrigued. Moreover, the opportunity to share the screen with esteemed actors like Tabu and Kriti adds to the appeal.” In an interview with India Today, Kareena elaborated on the film, describing it as “a delightful blend of comedy, heist, and mainstream entertainment, featuring three leading women in pivotal roles.”
Kriti, who was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, told Indianexpress.com about Crew, “It is a quirky fun film. It has got a lot to do with the camaraderie of these three women. It is very well written; it is very funny and has a thrill element to it as well.”
Crew will hit the theatres on March 29.
