YouTuber Alleges Elvish Yadav Attempted to Break His Spine and Disable Him

In a recent , YouTuber Sagar Thakur, also known as ‘Maxtern’, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against social media influencer and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav. Thakur alleges that Yadav, along with his associates, physically assaulted him, with the intent to cause grievous harm.

The incident came to light after a video circulated on social media, capturing Yadav and his companions attacking Thakur. Thakur claims that Yadav not only punched him in the face but also targeted his spine with a mobile phone, with the apparent intention of causing permanent disability.

YouTuber Sagar Thakur posted a new video on X.

Moreover, Thakur alleges that Yadav issued multiple death threats, both on and off camera, exacerbating the gravity of the situation. Despite the severity of the alleged offense, Thakur expresses dissatisfaction with the charges filed under bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He asserts that the evidence presented points towards an “attempt to murder,” warranting more stringent legal action.

India Today obtained access to the FIR lodged by Thakur, which calls for urgent legal intervention against Elvish Yadav. Thakur highlights the distress caused by hate speech and propaganda propagated by Yadav’s fan pages over several months. This distress prompted Thakur to seek counseling from a non-governmental organization (NGO), underscoring the detrimental impact of online harassment and intimidation on individuals’ mental well-being.

The FIR represents a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Sagar Thakur and Elvish Yadav, both prominent figures in the online content creation space. The allegations made by Thakur shed light on the darker side of social media, where disagreements and conflicts can escalate into physical violence and threats.

The incident underscores the importance of addressing online harassment and cyberbullying, which can have real-world consequences for victims. Thakur’s decision to pursue legal recourse against Yadav reflects a growing awareness of the need to hold individuals accountable for their actions, both online and offline.

Moreover, the case raises questions about the adequacy of existing legal frameworks in addressing cybercrimes and online harassment. Thakur’s frustration with the charges filed under relatively lenient sections of the IPC highlights the need for legislative reforms to better address the evolving nature of digital offenses.

In the wake of the FIR, there has been widespread public interest and speculation surrounding the case, with many expressing solidarity with Thakur and condemning the alleged actions of Elvish Yadav. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential dangers of unchecked online behavior and the importance of fostering a safer digital environment for all users.

As the legal proceedings unfold, it remains to be seen how the case will be adjudicated and what implications it may have for the broader social media landscape. However, one thing is clear: the allegations leveled against Elvish Yadav by Sagar Thakur have brought the issue of online safety and accountability into sharp focus, sparking important conversations about the responsibilities of content creators and the need for greater regulatory oversight in the digital realm.

“I was asked by Elvish yadav to meet, but I thought it was about verbal discussion. When he came to the store, he and his 8–10 goons, who were drunk, started beating me and using abusive language. Elvish Yadav tried to break my spine so that I would become disabled. All 8–10 people came at 12.30 am on March 8, 2024. Elvish Yadav, before leaving, threatened to kill me, and I was almost unconscious. I request to investigate this matter and (take) action according to the law under culpable homicide of Section 308 and 307 of the IPC. I want my medical examination to be conducted through police,” Sagar Thakur’s FIR stated.

Thakur also took to X to post a fresh video in which he alleged that by registering the FIR against Elvish Yadav under bailable sections, there were attempts to cover up the incident. He also claimed that initially he only got an injury to his upper lip after the thrashing, but was feeling pain in his neck and spine now as well.

“I was brutally attacked and assaulted by Elvish Yadav, who openly issued death threats to me. All the evidence is available on the internet. But when I went to the police station to file an FIR, the SHO lodged it under IPC 147, 149, 323, and 506. Unfortunately, these are bailable sections, and despite clear evidence of an attempt to murder, no non-bailable charges were included,” Sagar Thakur tweeted.

He asked why murder charges were not included in the FIR, and questioned if the decision was influnced by “money and support” from the Haryana government.

“Is the Haryana government potentially protecting a criminal?” he tweeted.

The YouTuber, in the fresh video, requested Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Gurugram Police to register an FIR against Elvish Yadav with a non-bailable section for attempt to murder and arrest the Big Boss OTT 2 winner.

Thakur also claimed that Elvish Yadav is a bad influence to India’s youth as he promotes violence, and added that if he is not arrested, then Indian laws “would be defeated”.

“If anything unfortunate happens to me in the future, Elvish Yadav should be held accountable,” Thakur tweeted.

WHAT CAUSED THE INCIDENT?

A heated social media feud erupted between Sagar Thakur and Elvish Yadav following Thakur’s criticism of Yadav’s association with Munawar Faruqui, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2. Thakur labeled Yadav a “hypocrite” after a photo of Yadav socializing with Faruqui at a cricket match circulated online.

Yadav, known for his vocal support of Hindutva ideology, faced backlash from his followers for mingling with Faruqui, who had been arrested in 2021 over alleged derogatory comments about Hindu deities.

The tension between Thakur and Yadav escalated when they met in Gurugram late at night, purportedly around 12:30 am. Shortly after, Thakur took to social media, alleging that he had been assaulted by Yadav and a group of 8 to 10 men. He shared a video capturing the altercation, depicting Yadav and his associates entering a garments shop and physically attacking Thakur.

The incident sparked outrage on social media, with netizens expressing concern over the escalation of tensions between prominent influencers. Many condemned the use of violence to settle disputes and called for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Thakur’s accusations against Yadav raised questions about the responsibilities of social media personalities and the influence they wield over their followers. The incident underscored the need for restraint and civility in online interactions, emphasizing the importance of constructive dialogue and mutual respect.

In response to the allegations, Yadav denied any involvement in the altercation and accused Thakur of spreading false information to defame him. He maintained that he had no prior animosity towards Thakur and urged his followers to refrain from engaging in online vitriol.

The clash between Thakur and Yadav highlighted the challenges of navigating the digital landscape, where disagreements and conflicts can quickly escalate into public spectacles. It underscored the role of social media platforms in facilitating communication but also the potential for misuse and abuse of their features.

As the controversy unfolded, both Thakur and Yadav faced scrutiny from their respective fan bases, with supporters rallying behind their favored influencer. The incident served as a reminder of the power dynamics inherent in online communities and the need for responsible behavior from those who command large followings.
